In the myst of the mosquitoes

I've got a beautiful backyard going on, if I do say so myself. I still have a long way to go, but I'm slowly getting there. I've got sweet potato vine that needs to start growing already, will ya?, tomatoes that need to turn red, strawberries slowly getting there, & lots of blank areas just waiting to be filled with beautious stuff.
I can lose hours in the day while weeding, pruning, planting, and watering my plants and flowers. Last Sunday, while my girl & her friend Lorelei squealed in the kiddie pool (the real one, not this one), I had time to spend doing those things.
Also? Look at the birdhouse my girl painted. She is so proud of it, and of course, so am I.
And then there is Daisy. The dog that used to avoid me at all costs. The dog who now follows me everywhere I go in the yard, who's snout goes up my ass if I stop short. Yet, she apparently
does not want her picture taken. Seriously?
I can't tell you how many pictures she ends up in because she must be around one of us at.all.times, yet, when I want to take a cute picture of her, this is the crap I get.
I plan on planting some more herbs this weekend, (the ones to deter the stupid mosquitoes), as well as a few ferns & other sun-loving, flowering things. I can't wait!

I love hydrangeas!! And gardening in general. I wish I had more time to work on our OVERGROWN piece-of-crap yard. Hopefully this summer!

p.s. the word verification below? says "ousnap" which if you say it out loud? Is like "OH SNAP!" I found it funny. But I am a dork. TOODLES!

My sweet potato vines are already taking over half the yard again!

They need full sun to really get going.

Those plants all look lovely. I hope you start growing sweet potatoes soon. Yum!

My rabbit Penelope does the same hing when I'm trying to take her photo. She WILL NOT look at the damn camera. Ever. Hence I have very little good pictures of her.

Gardening is one of the things I miss most since my car accident. Try as I might I just can't do it left handed. Maybe someday ....

Hydrangeas are my favorite flowers - I desperately want some of those in my eventual yard.

Daisy cracks me up - she's like Fred Armisen when he plays NY's governor on SNL and just wanders into camera shots. I laughed at each photo!

And love the birdhouse - such talent!

beautiful plants- I'm finally getting back into gardening now that my children can play without me being in their faces all the time! Your dog looks a little gray in the muzzle like mine...how old?
