Where I bitch like a 90 year old woman-Take 2

I swear, I have just turned 31 and my body is pissing me off. I've had some female issues (let's just leave it at that for those of you who don't already know) that have been a real pain in the who-ha.
Now I have an appt. with my doctor on Friday morning because I am having sharp, constant pain just at my sternum, through to my back, after I eat. It lasts for awhile, and feels like I am full in the wrong place after a big meal, and it's to the point that I feel like I'm getting heartburn. I try to get away from it-I try sitting up straighter, pushing my chest out, breathing deeply...Of course, I brush it off as gas, eating too much, blah, blah blah.
It's been going on a for a few weeks, but I can't really pinpoint when it began. Why? Because I have had so many stupid things wrong with my body since puberty hit, and I hate to think that my mother and husband think I'm a whiner or a hypochondriac.
Why? Because I had heart problems as a tween, and my mother didn't take it serious; she thought I was being dramatic. I ended up needing heart surgery.
I was born with a slight case of scoliosis, and have back pain over the most random things.
I was rear-ended by a drunk driver about 4 and half years ago (don't get me started) and went to the chiropractor to be on the safe side. Guess what? All that complaining about my neck always hurting had nothing to do with my shitty office chair and everything to do with the beginning stages of arthritis in the neck.
I hate pain-I complain about getting a TB test for cripe's sake-so my husband just sorta looks through me when I complain about something on my body hurting.
So, when did this start? *shrugs shoulders*
So, I was telling my friend about it the other day, because I know she will listen, and I know she will think of things I hadn't thought of, and....
she thinks it's my gallbladder/gallstones. She described trying to get away from the pain too. And she had her gallbladder out last summer.
Mother f-er.
So, off to the doctor I go tomorrow.
Wish me luck. Ridiculous.
What am I??? A 90 year old woman???

Woohoo!

I applied for grad school about 2 weeks ago, and just got my undergrad transcript in the mail Tuesday. I was pretty worried that I would have to take the GRE (ugh!), so I ordered the transcript to figure out if my last 60 hours had a GPA of at least 3.0. It took a bit for me to figure out HOW to do that (I'm a social worker, not a damn mathematician!), but once I did....
WOOHOO! 3.302 for the last 65 hours!!! Yipeeeee! No GRE for me!

Today I received a letter in the mail saying that I was accepted into the Social Work program, but not yet accepted by the university itself. Okaaaaaaay...?? It makes sense, but really, it doesn't, but whatever. I'm going to grad school!!!!! (Woohoo x2!)

In other exciting news, I have officially OFFICIALLY decided that I can no longer do this jelly-belly (Mmmmm, Jelly Belly's!), chunky-monkey (Mmmm, Ben & Jerry's), love handles (ick)BULLSHIT. My weight was consistent in high school, and I gained the freshman 15 my sophomore year (Thankyouverymuch, 18 packs of The Beast, and Taco Bueno runs at 2am, every frickin' night). Need I say why I gained weight and also got my one and only D in school EVER?? (F-ing Statistics class!) I started running, and lost that sophomore 15 pretty easily. I don't even remember stressing about it, or starving myself; it just sorta fell off.

Now? Not so much. After having my girl (almost 3 frickin' years ago! Ohmy.gosh.), I weighed only 5 lbs. more than my pre-pregnancy weight. Within about 6 or 7 months, I was down to my normal size (besides the gynormous boobies). Then, when I moved into my current home, I started to notice that some of my clothes didn't fit as well. I blame it on several things:

-Medication
-Lack of exercise
-Depression
-Changing my eating habits, and then trying to change them back
-Turning 30?
-Chocolate cake
-Creme Brulee
-Homemade ice cream
-Jelly Belly's
-Dulce de Leche ice cream, in little handy-dandy containers, that I can conveniently hide in the door of the freezer, and NO ONE KNOWS.
-Those f-ing 100 calorie snack packs, that DO NOT FILL ME UP. It's like that damn chip commercial-Bet you can't eat just one.
Nope, sure can't.

So, not only are my clothes not fitting well, but I'm so.tired.all.the.time. And my thighs rub together. And my arms, which have always been muscular and big in a good way, are now big in a not-so-good way. I actually see (GASP!) cellulite on my upper arms. And my hips, which have pretty much sucked since I got pregnant, are wayyy out of shape. I mean, why the hell can't my hip swivel like it used to during crazy sex? Why must it cramp up, to the point that my entire leg is rock hard, and I'm crying because I cannot move it-ouchouchouchouch-don't touch me!don't move my legs! help! Ack! My hip, my hip, my hip!!! My jelly belly has transformed into an upper jelly roll. The backs of my thighs look like I got hit with some buckshot. Or hail. Or a carton of cottage cheese. My boobs are even more boobaliscious than usual. My bras are getting a bit, overwhelmed, shall we say? And yes, I realize the assets I have, but they are also such asshats, because they are a pain in my ass.
In all honesty, the last time I got on a scale, I had gained 20 lbs. Which makes me a mere 12 lbs. from my weight when I was 9 months pregnant.
I just can't do this shit anymore. I'm only 30, and my body is screaming 'You are fucking 80! Bahahahaha! How 'bout them apples!'

And yes, I have said this before: I am sick of this shit. And I begin to exercise, and I eat more of the stuff I really love (fruits and veggies). But then life gets in the way, and exercise falls off the priority list (very busy woman, I say!).

What has changed this time, you ask? Well, you could say I had a bit of an eye-opener. As in, my eyes opened, my eyeballs actually fell out, and rolled under the couch with the tufts of dog hair.

I saw a picture of myself that my mom took while in Mexico. I was in my bathing suit, standing on the stairs of one of the pools. And it is not pretty. At all.

Those of you who know me, have all said this: Oh, you look great. Oh, you must wear the weight well. You look the same. You are too hard on yourself.

And I am the first one to tell you that whatever area of your body you are sensitive about will be the first area you look at when you stand in front of the mirror, or look at a photo of yourself.

But this? It is ridiculous.

I just cannot do it anymore.

So I signed up for a boot camp. I start July 14th, 3 days a week, for an hour each day, for 4 weeks. I am so excited. I need to see some results to keep me going. I need to hurt all over, puke, and guzzle a few gallons of water after each workout. I need to be so worn out that I get another burst of energy. I need this.

I also need this to make myself feel better inside. Let's face it: in this country, people focus on the outside. The color of your skin, the brand of clothing you wear, what neighborhood you live in, what kind of car you drive.....
No one takes a good long look on the inside unless they like what they see on the outside. So, I can't really be happy inside, until I am happy with my outside. I know that it shouldn't be that way...I need to embrace my body, accept myself, blah blah blah, insert more psychobabble here. But really, it comes down to this: I don't feel pretty, I don't feel sexy, I don't feel attractive. I don't see those things when I step in and out of the shower. I just don't. I know it could be worse. For sure. But this is 'worse' for ME. So, I'm off to make a change, and hopefully start to like my outsides a bit more in the next month, so I can start to feel comfortable with my insides again.

Thoughtfulness gets me every time!

It's been a hectic week, so yet again, my blogging has fallen by the wayside. Anyway, here I am now, so...

I turn 30 tomorrow. Like, 3.0. wow. I don't feel old, other than the fact that my body is not really my best friend anymore. I still feel 17, really. And, just sometimes, yes, I do still feel smokin'-hot. But not so much.
So, last night I got the most awesome birthday present! My husband really thought outside the box, and really put some thought into this one. And, for me, it's the thoughtful-ness of a gift that means something to me. Give me a store-bought card, and I won't complain. It's the small things in life that mean something, right? But, put some major thought into giving me something that will make my heart melt...well, that's a whole 'nother story!!
My husband bought me a telescope! I have one of my very own, currently in my bedroom, facing the east! I was soooo excited, and in shock! And he gave it to me last night, early, so that I could see the full lunar eclipse. And do you know what? I never would have bought one for myself, or probably even asked for one, but it is sooooo me!
And the fact that he took the time to think about things I like, and buy me something I would totally love, is just wonderful to me.
So he set it up in the backyard for me, showed me how to use it, and zeroed in on the moon. It was beautiful! And then, the coolest part, was Saturn!! I could see the rings!
Now I have to come up with some cool outside-the-box gift for him.
Darn.

Today I went on a tiny shopping spree. I bought 2 dresses, 1 pair of dress pants with a matching shirt, and 2 other shirts. I really reined myself in, because I totally wanted this cute suit, and two other dresses that looked stunning on me, if I do say so myself! I wanted to get some matching jewelry, but I had to get back to work! Maybe tomorrow I will hum 'Happy Birthday' to myself and go back for jewelry...or shoes....or the other clothes I wanted. What the hell, right??
You only turn 30 once!!!!

Hi, my name is Danielle-remember me?

Geez, I have been so tired this week! I haven't wanted to blog, read, watch TV, or shower. Yes, I know that last one is a bit gross, and my brother reminds me every time I talk to him that it is so very unsanitary to bathe only twice a week. But really, who has the time? Oh, between the dishes, the laundry, cooking dinner, not washing the pan that I fried shrimp in for 2 weeks, the laundry getting wrinkly in the dryer.....who has the time to shower?? My bro swears he can smell me all the way from San Marcos. Ha, whatever, it's probably your own bathroom-I've seen your roommates, bro!
This is how sad I am: I took the sheets off the bed, but didn't put any back on. A week ago. Yeah, bed bugs, pillow mites, dust bunnies...I got 'em all.
(Oh gross, I just got the goosebumps typing that. Ugh, ugh, ugh!)

My Tivo is working overtime, recording 74 episodes of Snapped, holding onto some snazzy independent films from November, and in the middle of the night, I hear it screaming 'FOR CRIPES SAKE, JUST WATCH ONE EPISODE OF SOMETHING!!!' But I am just too sleepy.

I have no real excuse for this lack of energy. My job is in the negative as far as the stress goes. My hours are good. My daughter drains me with her 2-year-old-ness, but it hasn't been worse this week. My hubby is sweet & funny & 'there' lately.

So why the sleepiness?

In all honesty, it's because I bumped my medication dosage back up Monday night. Thank God. Not a moment too late. But the downfall is this sleepy-please-just-let-me-sleep-5-more-minutes
bs.

I guess I could lie and say that I am saving up my energy for all the 'partying' I am going to do next Thursday and Friday to celebrate my frickin' 30th birthday.

Yeah, that's it.

No more cleansing & various other bitchings

Well, I haven't blogged since Day 2 of my cleanse, and there is a good reason for that. Namely...well, I fell off the cleansing bandwagon the night of Day 2. NO, really. The stuff didn't taste bad, but I had a 2 hour period where I couldn't drink it, and that was just enough time for my stomach to come alive and, well, inhale my liver. And my spleen. And really, once my stomach starts ingesting my other organs, it's all over. So.
It's all over.
I ate dinner that night, and I also happened to have a package of Rolo's. Mmmmmm.
And see, Ash Wednesday was, well, WEDNESDAY, and I decided that this Lent, I was going to give up all of the yummy things my belly loves to eat. And I love healthy stuff too, so I am committed to eating healthy, eating very little fried crap, cutting down on calories, and.....
No ice cream.
No cake.
No cookies.
No candy.
No starbucks' pastries.
No cupcakes.

My stomach is pretty pissed about this decision. But I am sure my ass will thank me later, when I walk around in a bathing suit for 7 days in Mexico.
And exercise is right around the corner. NO, really.
::
The other reason I stopped the damn cleanse was simple: I was so damn worn out from my 2 year old's damn fever, and I just wanted to be able to comfort myself with something yummy and full of fat-ass calories.
::
So, the fever finally left the house Wednesday afternoon. Yippeeeee. I kicked it's ass out the front door. Seriously. And then she came home from school today (the kid, not the fever), and she was a whiny, crying, clinging, pale kiddo again. Are you KIDDING ME????? I can't do this another weekend, seriously. I will literally lock myself in my closet and let my stomach eat all my other organs. (Can I say 'Seriously' a few more times in this post?)
::
Can I boycot all things Valentine's Day? The flowers, the 'Every kiss begins with Kay' commercials, the heart-shaped boxes of chocolates, the cute Victoria Secret perfume gifts, the sexy red & pink lingerie with the little hearts & lots of lace, the gag-me-with-a-heart-shaped-lollipop lovie-dovie cards???? I am so over the holiday. No, I'm not bitter. And yes, I love flowers, and candy, and real, spontaneous, heartfelt sentiment. It just isn't like it was when I was younger. And yes, my husband is sweet. It's just not the same. I have spent way too much time and energy trying to feel that excitement, anticipation, and sweetness that comes along with this holiday and your crush.
I say blah. Blah. Blah.
I think I need something sweet to make me sweet again. Which sort of defeats the purpose of this ranting I call a blog, huh?
Oh, well.

I am so over New Year's....

So, I totally want to go out on New Year's. I've always had the desire to have a New Year's party at my house. How fun would that be? Champagne, little quiches, champagne, lots of friends, little party hats & blowers, champagne......I finally have the house to do it. I no longer live in the middle of BFE (aka my little house on the prairie: http://www.realtor.com/search/listingdetail.aspx?zp=76082&typ=21&sid=e1d5abb117144064be75261a5800d0ed&sdir=0&sby=2&pg=3&lid=1086247119&lsn=23&srcnt=263#Detail
)

okay, wait-before I even continue on with my little story, let me just explain that I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to insert links without it looking like the clusterfuck above. so. there. carry on....
I no longer live in springtown, in the middle of 23 acres, where I hit the floor in fear for my life on more than 1 occasion (another whole set of blogs, that I promise I will get to). I now live in the middle of it all, near all my friends, closer to my parents, in a gorgeous new house. And I could totally pull off a fun New Year's party, and let my daughter and the kids of all of my friends run around like crazy little brats, while us young adults (we aren't too old yet) all got our drink on. But...then life got in the way. My daughter and I both got sick right before Christmas, which threw a helluva wrench in my Christmas planning, which in turn screwed up my new year's plans. So.....
Last minute plans to go to a friend of a friend's house. They are fun, and I have ended up dancing in the middle of their living room more times than I care to talk about. And then, at dinner, my daughter begins to cry about her ear again. Freakin' A. Freakin' ear infections aren't STAYING away. They go away, briefly, for a day or so, and then damn it all, if they aren't back, full force, in a matter of minutes.
She put up a good fight as we forced some pain drops in her little ears. 'Go away!.....Gooooooo, AWAYYYYYYYYYY!' My poor girl.
Then, my mom (aka the babysitter) was running late, and some plans for my little sister fell through (her dad is a jerk0ff-another blog), and...here I am, tired, yawning, dressed up, with sexy fake eyelashes, curled up in my LAZ-E-BOY chair. jeez. i am sooooo not almost 30. More like 90.
NO little quiches, no dancing on coffee tables, no little party hats, BUT! I do have champagne, and I am totally drinking it all up.
Anyone else have more exciting plans than me?

Happy New Year everyone!
