Just another survey that proves to me that me & my hubby are like oil & water
What are your middle names?
Mine is Lee, Hubby's is Matthew
How long have you been together?
10 loooonnnngggg years. Started dating in December 1998; married in 2000.
How long did you know each other before you started dating?
About 3 years. We were friends first. Met through mutual friends our senior year of high school. Saved a dog, a kitten, and saved my ass a few times too.
Who asked whom out?
I can't really pinpoint who asked who out. Like I said, we were friends. We hung out, we liked each other, neither of us were dating anyone else (or...wait....?) and I just remember a night of kissing in the cold rain.
How old are each of you?
We are both 31, and it wouldn't be a normal answer if I didn't tell you what he tells every-bloody-one: I am (a mere) 6 days older than he.
Whose siblings do you see the most?
Mine, for sure. For one, my family is always around. Second, his brothers are like non-existent in everyone's life.
Which situation is the hardest on you as a couple?
If you ask him, it's when we are together. Bwahahahahahahaha. He's a funny guy, isn't it? If you ask me, I would say his uncle's death a few years ago.
Did you go to the same school?
Nope. We only went to the same high school for one semester.
Are you from the same home town?
No. He grew up in Cedar Hill, Texas and I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas.
Who is smarter?
He is definitely smarter at analyzing things, at numbers, at investments. I am good at psycho-analyzing things, great with words, and lovely when it comes to being caring and giving. Does that make me smart?
Who is the most sensitive?
Me, for sure. To a fault sometimes.
Where do you eat out most as a couple?
Hmmm, probably Sushi Sam's or pizza.
Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple?
Playa del carmen, mexico
Who has the craziest exes?
I would have to say him. Especially considering he had an ex that knew where were lived, as in-had driven by our house and could describe everything about it but hadn't talked to him in several years. Hellloooo, spooky. Most of my ex's disappeared into thin air.
Who has the worst temper?
Oh, I'm pretty sure we are on even ground on this one. I get it out right away, yelling stomping, and throwing shit (occasionally). He keeps it all in, until he explodes. We feed off of one another's anger.
Who does the cooking?
That would be me. He will cook breakfast occasionally, but other than that...
Who is the neat-freak?
I have my interesting little quirks about things being clean, but by far, he is the one with the OCD. He gets pissy about the labels of cans facing the same in the pantry; his shirts facing the same way in the closet, color-coded; and OMG HE gets down-right persnickety about how to load our dishwasher. Also? You must clean each dish, cup, and spoon prior to putting it in the dishwasher.
Who is more stubborn?
Him. He will not give in on anything, even when it is blatantly obvious that he is wrong. I, on the other hand, stand my ground on things that are important to me, but cave on other things. I hate confrontation.
Who hogs the bed?
We stay to our own sides. He hogs the comforter, I hog the sheet. In this, we are pretty compatible.
Who wakes up earlier?
Him.
Where was your first date?
Hell of I know!
Who is more jealous?
Depends on the situation. I would say, overall, I am more jealous, but it comes from my own feelings of inadequacy (told you I psycho-analyze everything).
How long did it take to get serious?
Not long at all. We dated for a couple of months, and by spring he was at my apartment pretty much every night.
Who eats more?
I eat more throughout the day; he eats one, maybe two meals a day. But during those meals he does eat, he definitely surpasses me.
Who does the laundry?
Me. The few times he has done the laundry, he has shrunk the shit out of some of my clothes, and that is his "reasoning" behind no longer doing laundry. Whatever.
Who’s better with the computer?
Me.
Who drives when you are together?
Him, for several reasons. 1. He always has to be in control 2. He thinks I'm a bad driver 3. He says my Jeep is a sardine can, and he gets all claustrophobic in it.
Go right ahead and psycho-analyze that.
Then be sure and do this little meme-thingy yourself.

I love your blog

As part of the meme, I have to give you 6 random facts about myself. So here goes:
1. I have reoccurring dreams. Not nightmares. Places I know I have never been to in real life, but places I go to over and over in my dreams.
2. I once slept with a guy who is now dead. Creepy, huh?
3. And let me just say, since I am being brutally honest, as usual, that, with the guy gone, the female population is without one incredibly sexy guy who knew what the hell he was doing.
4. I used to hate coconut with a passion. I think it was the texture. Now I love it.
5. I once got so drunk that I fell off a picnic table that I just happened to be dancing on.
6. I was a 'sexy kitty cat' for Halloween one year. Now? I find it annoying as hell that young girls use Halloween as an excuse to wear next to nothing. "Let's wear lingerie, draw some whiskers on our face, and bam! Happy Halloween!" Ack.
So, who shall I tag? Shit, who am I really going to torture?
All of the ladies at 3giraffes
And those are the only people I will torture for now. The rest of you: I still try to read your blogs, I don't get to comment often, but I love you all!
Enough with the lovey-dovey, kissy-face shit. Back to our regularly programmed blog.

Well, isn't that special???
Rules:
-Pick up the nearest book.
-Turn to page 123.
-Find the 5th sentence.
-Copy down the next three sentences.
-Pass it along.
So, I just finished My Sister's Keeper, and a few others, and here you have it:
--Kerri glances over her shoulder at me. "You look like shit."
"Thanks."
Gah, what the hell? Seriously?
So, I tried another book: My Life In and Out of the Rough by John Daly. My husband's book, although I don't think he's finished, let alone touched it a least a month.
--She was also absolutely drop-dead beautiful. I couldn't take my eyes off her. But I got all shy for some reason.
Awwwwww.
Okay, so I'm tagging the following: Why Mom Drinks Rum, Danielle, My Second Journal, & DeeDee. Go. Now. Have fun trying to find something meaningful and blog-worthy on page 123.
***
Another blog-worthy topic that I could go on and on about.
I receive emails from my husband's aunt on occasion. Sometimes it is little updates about how things are going, but mostly it is stupid forwards. Okay, some are cute and sweet, but most are political in nature, and they.piss.me.off.
See, I am pretty liberal. But working for CPS for 6 years also put some pressure on my morals and standards. Now, I'm all for Free Speech and 'to each their own' and all that other bullshit, but seriously?
So today I get this email with 'Political Cartoons we don't see, but should'. Oh, frick.
And I go ahead and read them, and I'm all, "Oh, funny." Not.
But! At the very end of the email is this, bullshit statement:
"Thought for the day: Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'. "
Please. Go back and read.that.very.slowly.
Now, let me breathe a bit, before I get on my soapbox, and lay into this one. And beware, I am sure I will cuss on this one.
Are you fucking kidding me? Seriously??? Seriously. Okay, so I live in Texas, and yeah, yeah, Texas is really Mexico, according to all the fuckers who say this state is 'full of Mexicans'. Okay, fine. Whatever. But comparing people who are here illegally with dumbasses who sell drugs to anyone who will buy them? Uh, no.
I'm not really sure why, over the past few years, we have decided that it is all the filthy, undocumented Mexicans that are causing problems. Last time I checked, they bust their asses. They have taxes pulled out of their checks, just like you and me. They live quietly, and they send money home to their families.
Don't give me this shit that they are taking jobs away from 'us Americans'. In all my years growing up and working in restaurants, I never once saw a white or black (or any other race or ethnicity for that matter) dishwasher or busser. The guys who brick the houses? Hispanic. The guys who put on the roofs? Hispanic. Landscapers? Hispanic. Sheetrockers? Hispanic. Foundation work? Hispanic. Framers? Hispanic. Tile, wood floors, painting? Hispanic X 3.
Now, I'm not saying that there aren't any other races/ethnicitys doing these jobs. But the majority in this state are Hispanic.
And how about the ranch hands? Hispanic. Migrant workers? Hispanic.
The fact of the matter is: They are cheap labor. They bust their ass, they don't complain, they work long hours, and they are happy. In turn, we are happy because the cost of a house is much cheaper, since labor is cheaper. Those strawberries we eat? Guess whose filthy Mexican hands picked them??
Sure, they use county and state funds. Sure, they apply for Medicaid, and go to the county hospitals. But guess what? So do the poor, working class, and middle class Americans. No matter what color.
I just don't see how building a fence along the border is going to fix things. There will still be people who will deal in human trafficking, and they will still trickle into this country. And really, the problem of terrorism DID NOT originate in Mexico.
I don't see how sending people back, who have been here for years, will correct things. I don't see how separating families (illegal parents and their American-born children) is really going to make things better. What an example we are showing, to the rest of the world, huh?
I know that people get fired up about this issue. I know that people have things to say about why I shouldn't want an 'illegal immigrant' here. But the thing is, I don't see them as having a negative impact on my life. The things I'm more concerned about: gas prices, the war, the fucking Supreme Court overturning the idea that a person convicted of raping a child could be put to death, the meth epidemic. (Those are issues I will talk about soon)
I realize everyone has their own opinion, and I respect that. My opinion will not change on this subject.
As for my husband's aunt?: I delete the damn emails. I don't respond. I just don't want to seem disrespectful, so I keep my mouth shut. It's a bit annoying, because it's pretty constant, and I know she is trying to shove her opinion down my throat.
***
And lastly.....has anyone else noticed how buff Randy White is lately??? He's 55, but his body does not look it!

I got tagged!
This lovely lady tagged me! (Isn't it sorta creepy that we have the same name, and her location says 'Funky Town', which is the nickname of the area I live in!?)
Like I've got nothing better to do! It's not like I'm leaving the country in 9 hours or anything. Sheesh. Gahhhhhh.
The Rules:
Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player tags other people and posts their name, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they've been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
What was I doing 10 years ago?
Hmm...10 years ago, I was in college, and had just recently lost my grandmother to cancer. So...I was pretty much taking care of my little sister (at that time, she was just about 17 months old) and trying to help my mom through this time.
Five Snacks I Enjoy:
1. Ice cream
2. Twizzlers
3. A block of cheese
4. Pretzels
5. Rolos
Five things I Would Do If I Were a Billionaire:
1. Donate most of it
2. Continue to get my master's degree
3. Focus on getting published
4. Adopt
5. Open a transitional living facility for teens aging out of foster care
Five Places I Have Lived:
1. New York
2. Tulsa Oklahoma
3. Saginaw, Texas
4. Fort Worth, Texas
5. Springtown, Texas (AKA the middle of f-ing nowhere!!!!)
Five People I Want to Get to Know Better(A nice way of saying “Tag. You’re it!”) (or of saying these are the other sucka's that may do it...)
1. She Likes Purple
2. Raven
3. Misty
4. Miss thing over at My Second Journal
5. Mooooo!!!
Come on! Play along!
4.24.2008
What's in my make-up bag, and why the hell do I still look like hell??
-Mac concealer, that I use as a base for my eye makeup
-Mac eyeshadows in various 'blah' colors
-ID Bare Minerals-All over face color and Bronzer
-Flirt! eyeshadows-one in an awesome green and another in a great purple
-eyelash curler that is so damn old-I really need to buy a new one
-Fake eyelashes that I have worn twice, but really like!
-Rimmel eyeliner (no point in spending $20+ on eyeliner, in my opinion)-in black and brown
-Rimmel lipliner in some odd color-Don't even know where it came from! but it does the job
-CG mascara
-Mac mascara (hate this crap! the brush sucks)
-Lots of eyeshadow and blush brushes
-Dove eye cream
Next:
I love this! It is Two Faced Brow Envy, if you can't read my blurry picture. It has 4 different brow shaped stencils to shape your eyebrows, two brow powders, tweezers, wax, a brow brush, and a defining pencil. It is great! I have always had problems with bushy eyebrows, and even more problems with keeping them under control, and this kit totally helps.
I have not always been such a Sephora whore, but apparently I am lately! I love the lip liner and lipstick because it stays on. I use the Sephora Professional lipgloss at night, and it works awesome. I just bought Mocha lip shine (because I'm addicted to lip gloss), and it's decent. The Rose Salve is WONDERFUL!
-Sephora make up remover-It works good, but dries out my already bone-dry eyes.
-Garnier daily serum and Ultra-lift eye serum
-Quick Thinking make up remover pads. Love them!
-Botanics facial mask
-ROC microderm pads. I just bought these, so I don't know if they are really working or not. I do like how clean my face feels after using them, but I don't see a difference in my crappy skin texture and tone yet.
Well, that's about it. Like I said, I'm always craving new beauty stuff, so if anyone has any great finds, let me know!

I asked for it
The rules:
1. Link back to the person who tagged you.
2. Post these rules on your blog.
3. Share six unimportant things about yourself.
4. Tag six random people at the end of your blog.
#1: I absolutely cannot walk around barefoot without first putting lotion on after a shower. My skin is very dry to begin with, and my feet are even worse. Just the thought of my clean feet on the tile gives me goosebumps. I have no idea why.
#2: I apparently have foot issues because I also cannot fall asleep with my feet under the covers. Especially a comforter. My feet feel weighed down and trapped.
#3: I've never smoked pot. Or smoked a cigarette.
#4: My thighs get red & itchy when I work out.
#5: I once went to the emergency room to have a tiny little, Barbie tennis ball removed from my nostril. I was about 3 at the time, and Barbie and Ken had a mean tennis match going on, and somehow the ball ended up in my nose. And my mother still likes to joke that I had Ken's balls up my nose.
#6: During a visit to Cali to see my friend Natalie, I got so damn trashed that the last thing I remember was falling off the picnic table I was dancing on, and my final vision was sideways (as I lay half on/half off the picnic table): Natalie doing a silly lap dance for this 300 lb. kid. (sorry, Nat, I sorta threw an unimportant thing in there about you too!)
So.
There.
Nothing exciting, really, but plenty for you to make fun of, I'm sure!
I guess I'll tag 6 people, and if you don't have a blog, just leave them on my comments.
Let's see if I really do have 6 damn readers:
1-Momma K
2-Mr. Chris Spencer, please stand up.
3-Kristy, my fun friend who feels my Being-a-mom-can-really-suck pain.
4. Jill, my longtime friend who also feels my Being-a-mom-can-really-suck pain.
5. Psst-Amanda-tag, you're it!
6. Nat-here's your chance to get back at me for telling your little stripper secret. :)
